Öresundskraft installs Exeri’s IoT-system for monitoring the electric grid

Exeri has signed an agreement with Öresundskraft regarding delivery of the system Smart Grid Surveillance. The order includes over 200 IoT-sensors, secure radio communication and AI-based decision support. The system will provide Öresundskraft with continuous monitoring of the overhead power grid and new possibilities to reduce the downtime for the electricity consumers.

Öresundskraft, with headquarter in Helsingborg, is one of Sweden's leading energy companies with 125 000 customers in the region of Skåne. The company works actively with sustainable and digitalized services for the future grid.

“With this new smart technology are we now taking the next step in our efforts to improve and secure the electricity supply for our customers. Exeri's system will help us to restore electricity faster in the event of a fault. The technology is in line with our strategy to digitalize and make the electricity grid smarter" says Magnus Sjunnesson, Technical Manager at Öresundskraft.

Exeri is a leader in electricity grid monitoring in Sweden, both in number of IoT units and in length of monitored overhead line. When there is a fault in an overhead line can it take several hours to find the error. Exeri Smart Grid Surveillance detects and locates faults in the grid immediately. This is done with the help of intelligent sensors, secure radio communication and advanced data analysis. This gives the electric grid operator decision support for the repair work, shorter interruption time and improved reliability.

"We are very proud to be part of Öresundskraft's digitalization and to be able to contribute to increased reliability of electricity." says Magnus Karlsson, CEO at Exeri. "We see that line sensors together with advanced data analysis and communication technology play an increasingly important role in securing electricity supply, both in Sweden and abroad."
