PiteEnergi invests in digital electric grid monitoring with 500 unique IoT sensors from Exeri
PiteEnergi is now further expanding the digitalization of the electric grid and continues the installation of Exeri's innovation Smart Grid Surveillance. 500 smart line agents are now installed in over 200 km of the overhead line network. The system provides continuous digital monitoring and reduces downtime for electricity customers.

"By digitally monitoring the overhead line network, we create a continuously updated situation map in our operations center, which minimizes the downtime and the number of disturbances as well as the risk of electrical accidents", continues Jörgen.

Smart Grid Surveillance (SGS) is an industry-unique Swedish system that consists of smart IoT sensors deployed in the electric grid, which together with advanced AI-based data algorithms provide accurate fault identification. The sensors are mounted quickly (in less than 5 minutes) with the power line in operation. SGS makes it possible to locate faults in the grid in real time and by that avoiding manual inspections of line sections. SGS enables higher reliability in the grid with fewer and shorter power outages and improves economy by digitizing old labor-intensive processes.
