Smart Grid Surveillance (SGS) allows for real time visualization of the power grid status – the grid operators will know what parts do in fact work as expected, and which parts currently do not. The user is presented with a map of the surveilled grid, where possible outages, exact fault positioning, and solutions to immediately restore power to as many customers as possible is clearly indicated. Thus there is no need for complex calculations, guesswork or trial and error when sending repair crews, as they can be directed to the correct spot at once.
This proves particularly helpful for distributions system owners who administer remote or otherwise difficult to access grid infrastructure. In such areas, simply getting technicians to the grid is a time-consuming process involving long car journeys, walking in rough terrain, and sometimes even snowmobiles. Trouble shooting in such areas are, naturally, very difficult and costly, something that Smart Grid Surveillance circumvents entirely.

Smart Grid Surveillance is an industry-unique Swedish system that gathers information from smart IoT sensors deployed in the power grid. Together with advanced AI-algorithms, this provides accurate fault identification/positioning as well as a statistical view of where smaller disturbances occur, which makes it possible to plan maintenance work to where it is actually needed.
