The Swedish Energy Research Centre (Energiforsk) reports on Exeri Smart Grid technology at PiteEnergi

Energiforsk, the Swedish Energy Research Center, has published an article on Exeri Smart Grid Surveillance and the recent installation at PiteEnergi:

“Many of the electricity companies in northern Sweden have long needed a new technology to troubleshoot overhead lines. Daniel Ruisniemi is head of PiteEnergi power grid planning and is satisfied with the line agents:
- Finding the fault location goes much faster and that it is very important for us. The new technology gives us real-time monitoring and the statistics we get give us a good idea of future maintenance needs. Not only do the agents report major faults, but it can also be that trees needs to be cleared along the line or that there are cracked insulators. Now we can deal with these issues well in advance, before it leads to major faults in the electricity grid. ”
